twang club updates july 2026
Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve sent out any updates. I’ve been busy getting things operational with the Twang Club Radio Hour and wanted to make sure everything worked before spreading the word.
The show airs live on Tuesdays 8p-10p on WMCB 107.9 FM if you are in Greenfield and immediate surroundings and on the WMCB Website for everyone else.
I am also posting archived episodes to Mixcloud usually on Wednesdays or at least soon after they air. You can listen on their website or by using their app when you’re on the go. I am also putting together blog posts for each episode with at least a track list and usually more. You can find those posts here: https://twangclub.com/radio where you can also sign up to receive the blog posts by email.
It took me awhile to get everything up and running so I’m still catching up on the posts for some of the older shows.
This week’s episode airs tonight (7/14) and is made up of records i bought on a recent trip to Pittsburgh.
I’m taking the next week off because I’ll be out of town all weekend but I’ve got some exciting plans for the show including a tribute episode to Bruce Tull of the Scud Mountain Boys.
In other news Twang Club is returning to The Quarters in Hadley on Saturday July 25th from 9p-12a for all you party animals.
It’s a loose theme of “heat wave” so expect songs about heat, fire, maybe swimming, maybe drowning. We shall see.
Dj Mop Head who recently moved West from Boston will be stepping in for part of the set too. He has a ton of great stuff including lots of soul and garage which are part of the extended twang spectrum.
I also recently spent some time working up some tshirts to join the hats in the Shop. There are three styles all available print on demand in many colors and sizes. If you want a different kind of shirt just let me know and I’ll set it up. I’m also working on coozies and stickers.
I will continue to play with the designs and if you have an issues let me know. Returns are to the printing company but it would be good to keep track.
Join the mailing list for a discount code to the shop.
My plan is to send out an update once a month. If it’s too much just let me know. They won’t always be this long.
Here are some upcoming shows in Western Mass you might want to check out. Some of which I’m not going to make it to. None of these venues are sponsoring Twang Club, I just really like these bands. In the future I might throw in a couple new and upcoming release recs too.
7/19: Samantha Crain at the Iron Horse
7/22: Twisted Teens at the Stone Church
7/24 Dash Rip Rock at Buttonball Barn
8/7: Lou Barlow’s Birthday Bash at the Shea
8/8 Abe Loomis at Floodwater Brewing
Thanks for reading this and supporting this crazy Twang Club thing I started. Please share this with anyone you think might dig it.
