single #2 from charlie marie and other news
The second single from Charlie Marie’s new album is out now. Plus some exciting Twang Club news.
Charlie Marie just released the second single from her upcoming album.
It’s called “Kancamagus Highway” and here’s what she has to say about the song:
The inspiration behind Kancamagus Highway: “Even though I live in Rhode Island I had never been to the Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire, which traverses the breathtakingly scenic White Mountain National Forest. When I finally got the chance to experience its majestic beauty it reminded me of Ram Dass’s lectures and I felt high on my own supply! Mother Nature has a way of blowing my mind and opening my heart.”
Thanks to everyone who has already purchased tickets to the show. Please spread the word so we can fill up that theater. This will be the debut of Charlie with a full band in Western Mass and it’s also the only full band show Rosie Porter is doing during this tour.
You should check out Rosie’s new album too if you haven’t already.
I also have an announcement of my own.
Twang Club will soon be expanding to the airwaves! I’ve signed up for a show at WMCB 107.9 in Greenfield.
It will be called Twang Club Radio Hour and I’ll be playing a lot of what I normally spin at Twang Club and some stuff that doesn’t quite fit there. There will be a mix of old and new. I’m not sure when the first episode will be or what my time slot is yet.
Keep an eye on Instagram and Facebook for the date and time. I endeavor to do a blog post for each episode with notes on each song. That way I can keep my rambling to a minimum. You will be able to listen live on 107.9 FM in Greenfield and now as far away as Montague! More importantly you can stream it on WMCB.net and I will post archived episodes to the Twang Club website. I’m keeping it to an hour for now but will probably expand to two hours once I get in the swing of things. If you ever have specific or even general requests you can always reach out via the website or social and I’ll try my best to accommodate.
Other than the Charlie show I don’t have any DJ nights scheduled but hope to find somewhere to do an updated version of the “horny country” set I did awhile back.
