These are some of my favorite songs from the first half of 2026. There are lots of other albums that I haven't had a chance to dig into so this is certainly not exhaustive or conclusive. I plan to do a couple weeks of year end wrap up shows and may revisit some of these in the future. I included links to the bandcamp or website for the artists so you can buy these records and not just listen on Spotify.

The background music behind the read backs is the song The Great Stream from a Buddy Emmons album recorded at the International Steel Guitar Convention in I guess 1976 or 1977. It's a very cool jazz forward record that I'll feature more next week.
